This is where I moved on to the next stage!
After doing another layer or two of silicone, I added keys. Keys are basically interlocking objects that connect the silicone and plaster together. It's kinda hard to explain, but the objects will lock into "keyholes" and when fiberglassing, the silicone will be right in place.
Casting/Plaster Bandage time!
....then there is a big problem.
....then there is a big problem.
The silicone tore up 70% of the primer, filler, and it even ripped off the entire chin and the back of the head!! So those many hours and hours I spent sanding, gone. But!! If the silicone is okay, then I don't have to worry about it :) The silicone was covered in thousands and thousands of primer bits. I did not take a picture, I was too busy scraping off that grey stuff! I spent probably a good hour or two on it, then I took a photo.
The next day..........I began fiberglassing because it was gonna rain and get colder this week.
I am the queen of screwing things up. How many things have been screwed up in this one post so far? Oh just wait. There is more.

I brushed the silicone with a resin mix. I don't know how to measure mentally, so I just guessed on how many drops of hardener should be put in. I can't use measuring tools because after all, it is deathly harmful, and we use those for food.... The resin pooled up in the lower spots, as you can see.
Sin count: 3
Then it was not hardening at all, after 20 minutes. I was told to go ahead and start doing cloth, but something was wrong here. I didn't put nearly enough liquid hardener in the mix.
Sin Count: 4
I just poured hardener in, and a TON of it. It started to harden, so I was happy.
Then there was this loud pop. And then it made crackling noises. I was startled and leaned over to see what was the problem. Bubbles formed, it flickered, and then a bomb of smoke blew up from the resin. This thing was going to catch ON FIRE if I didn't do something! Then, in other spots it started doing the same thing! Too much hardener!!
Sin Count: 5
Knowing me, I am going to do something even worse. Since I put too much hardener in....I decided to even out the mix. I literally poured MORE RESIN on top of the burning surface! I am an idiot.
Sin Count: 6
Eventually, I got all the fiberglassing done. Two days of curing and then it can be removed from the mold.
